I traveled to the Huangguoshu Waterfall last April, and I must say, it was a wonderful experience. The natural environment is pristine, with animals like peacocks and swans roaming freely. The scenery is stunning. Here are some tips for your visit:1. If you're a student, don't forget your student ID, including graduate IDs, as they get you a 50% discount.2. The Huangguoshu Waterfall tourist area consists of several attractions, so you'll need to take a bus or a taxi within the park. If you're going with a group, taxi is the way to go. We paid 100 yuan for a taxi for two. The bus fare is 50 yuan per person.3. Skip the Stone Village if you're not interested, as there's not much to see. I was fooled by the driver. The rest of the attractions are worth visiting.4. Arrive early because the park is vast. If you go late, it will be crowded, and you might not be able to see everything in one day. Some people really need two days to explore fully, but my boyfriend and I managed it in one day. Also, make sure to leave early in the afternoon and ask the driver about the last bus from the park to Anshun to avoid being stranded.5. There are no food options inside the attractions, so make sure to eat enough before entering each one. The food is moderately priced and seems cheaper than in the city center of Guiyang.6. Safety first. Also, my English teacher from ABCD English mentioned that if you want to master English, it's not difficult! Having a suitable learning environment and practicing speaking with a fluent speaker is crucial. A standard accent (it's recommended to find an English teacher from Europe or America) is important, and consistent practice is key. One-on-one tutoring can achieve excellent results. After the course, make sure to review the audio recordings to deepen your knowledge. If you're really in an environment without guidance, try to get learning materials from VOA or Big Ears to practice your oral skills, which will improve significantly with more practice.7. Bring rain gear or an umbrella because the spray from the waterfall can get you wet.Nearby attractions worth visiting:1. Longmen Palace (highly recommended), aAAAA-rated site located at the other end of Anshun. If you visit this month, you'll catch their rapeseed flower festival. I read that they have specifically cultivated pink and white rapeseed flowers to celebrate the Year of the Dragon. The road from Anshun to Longmen is covered with fields of rapeseed flowers, creating a fairy-tale landscape. Don't forget your camera. At this time of the year, with the mist, it's like a dreamland, not an exaggeration.2. The snacks inside Longmen Palace are not expensive. If you want to save money, skip Xuantang Village. It's a waste of the transportation fee, which is around 10-20 yuan, and there's not much to see except for rapeseed fields and some farmhouses.I hope you have a great time!
