SCM440 corresponds to the material 42CrMo in China. This material is classified as a high-strength steel and exhibits good toughness along with favorable hardenability. It does not display significant brittleness after tempering and has a high fatigue limit as well as good resistance to multiple impact shock. Furthermore, SCM440 maintains good impact toughness at low temperatures.
