Hubei province recently saw a significant milestone in its foreign trade sector, as the cities of Wuhan, Huangshi, and Xiantao were honored with a spot in the "Top 100 Cities in China's Foreign Trade Competitiveness" list for 2020. This recognition was unveiled by China Customs magazine, a publication under the General Administration of Customs. Wuhan, the provincial capital, demonstrated remarkable performance, securing the 20th position overall and maintaining its top spot in the central region of China. This achievement is particularly noteworthy given the ongoing global economic challenges and the strong performance of Wuhan’s foreign trade, which has seen a year-on-year growth of 38.1% from January to August this year. The total import and export volume for the period reached an impressive 206.77 billion yuan.Another city, Huangshi, has been a consistent performer in the foreign trade arena, having been included in the list for the 12th consecutive year. It secured the 47th position in the rankings. Huangshi’s global trade network is extensive, with established exchanges in 152 countries. In the first half of this year, Huangshi’s total foreign trade import and export volume was second in the province, as was the volume of goods handled at Xingang Port. Additionally, Huangshi’s cross-border e-commerce import and export volume also ranked second in the province, underscoring its strong export capabilities.Xiantao, a city in Hubei, was ranked 97th in the list, further highlighting the diverse and robust foreign trade landscape in the region. The recognition of these cities is a testament to the dedication and strategic efforts of local authorities and businesses in enhancing their international trade relations and competitiveness. The information provided here is sourced from Hubei Daily, and any inaccuracies or infringements on legitimate rights and interests should be reported to the email address: jpbl@wccm.sinanet.com for prompt resolution.
